Ragan Smith & Sam Mikulak to Compete at American Cup

USA Gymnastics announced the field of competitors for the upcoming American Cup.

Among the athletes scheduled to participate are Team USA stars, Ragan Smith, replacement athlete for the Rio Olympics and 2012 & 2016 Olympian, Sam Mikulak.

Ragan made her debut as a senior this past year and placed 5th at the Olympic Trials. She's best known for being a beam phenom.

The US (who is allowed an extra spot since they are the host country) have an un-named wild card athlete whom has not yet been named for both the men and the women. Per USA Gymnastics, the athletes filling these spots will be filled at a later date. Of course, this leaves ample time for gym fans at large to speculate on who those wildcard spots will wind up going to.

Also included in the field is the Netherlands' Eythora Thorsdottier, who gained the attention of gym fans everywhere with her beautiful form and especially her unique artistry on floor and beam.

The American Cup is being held March 4, in Newark, NJ at the Prudential Center.
