Day One Romanian Nationals: Larisa Iordache Wins All Around

On the first day of the Romanian National Championships was the all-around competition. Larisa Iordache took home the all-around national title to add to the growing collection she's been amassing all year.

Larisa, debuted a new floor routine with some swanky new music and dance, but it was a little watered down with only a 5.8 difficulty value, but Larisa was a spunky as she always is. While she is capable of doing a double twisting Yurchenko on vault, she only competed a Yurchenko full. On beam, she still dominated with a 16.6 start value and a 15.5 overall total score.

The word is she may have watered down her routines because she's been dealing with a small back problem which is more than likely why she missed the Dutch Friendly last week. Her coach Mariana Bitang said that Larisa has only really been training at full speed for a week now.

With Iordaache on the podium were junior gymnasts Andreea Munteanu and Andreea Iridon, who placed second and third respectively. Since the senior national team is a little light these days with only five senior gymnasts, the Romanian Gymnastics federation combined the junior and senior meets into one.
