Sandra Izbasa Returns to the Gym

So, word on the street (okay, the internet) is Olympic gold medalist, Sandra Izbasa is returning to the gym for training.

It's doubtful that she'll be back in fighting shape for the European Championships, but it looks like she is going for Worlds in Antwerp, Belgium in October.

It's good news for the Romanian team, who have had their reserves of gymnasts with the announcement of retirement by fellow Olympian Catalina Ponor. Euros team member, Raluca Haidu said after failing to make the London team, she was retiring and Diana Chelaru seems to be waffling on whether or not to continue with the national team.

Sandra is not looking really looking to do Rocky 8 or whatever, it's just trying to end her gymnastics career in a place where it makes sense.

In the meantime, maybe she can do the famous Rocky scene on the steps of the Philadelphia Museum of Art since we're making pop culture refrences to Rocky. Yes, in this scenario, Sandra is Sylvester Stallone...a blond girl Sly... who is a gymnast, not a boxer...but I digress.

Till next time.
