Favorite Routines: Beth Tweddle

Alright kids, I'm back after a slight break. I took a break from my gymnastics obsession to focus on my Motion City Soundtrack obsession due to an up coming concert.

For this installment of favorite routines, I'm featuring Great Britain's Beth Tweddle on the uneven bars.

Beth is a rarity among female gymnasts. She's a three time Olympian, and at the age of
27, she's a woman competing with girls who are 10-12 years younger than her. Most elite gymnasts are seniors by the time they're old enough to drive and their careers tend to fizzle out before they turn 18.

Beth has stealthily competed against an ever changing gaggle of teenagers and she still competes with the best of them and can beat them also. This 2010 routine is Beth winning the uneven bar World Championship gold medal. (Several competitors did fall off the bars though.) Beth's bars never quit and she connects every element and she flies flawlessly. She even has an element named after you. See if you can catch it (it's a piked sole circle to a straddled Tkatchev with a 1/2 turn). One warning, it happens very fast, so if you blink you might miss it!

Thanks for coming! As usual, if you have any favorite routines you'd like to share, follow the contact me link and send me your picks!

A little something for the road, my pretties:

Until next time, kids!
